JOC SNOWTUBING PARTY!

The tenth annual JOC snowtubing party will take place on Sunday evening, March 7 from 5-8 pm, at the new Woodbury Ski Area, in Connecticut.
YAY!!!!!!

Ski Campgaw no longer takes groups on weekends, and we were forced to find alternatives this year. Several people told us about how awesome Woodbury is.

What makes it awesome?

This is a real Snowtubing park with a total of ten lanes, with single tubes, and group tubes for use. Some of the lanes are very advanced with high speed steep slopes along with bumps and turns. Others are beginner trails. In brief, this ain't no ski resort afterthought --  This park was designed for fun in the snow!

To see a video of the tubing, check out http://www.wfsb.com/video/18496795/index.html.

This is always one of JOC's biggest and most fun events of the year with anywhere from 70-120 people attending. Whether you
are new and have been lurking on the list for a long time, or have been a regular for a while, don't miss out on this fun event!

Throughout the night, we will be able to relax in their lodge which is right next to the tubing run, where there will be snacks provided. All food, is, of course, Kosher.

PRICE
Along with a real snowtubing park comes steeper prices. Their group rate is $36. We are charging $39 (early bird) to cover paypal fees, and some snack food that we are providing. We do not make any money on this trip. The good news: The session is a 3 hour session! This gives you plenty of time to tube the 10 runs, and socialize at the park, or in the lodge, where we have a reserved space.

TRANSPORTATION
We will be getting there via carpool. A week prior, we will send out a spreadsheet of drivers, and you will be responsible to make arrangement to get to Woodbury. The drive is about an hour from my home in westchester, a bit more from the city.

WHAT IS THE TUBING LIKE?
The tubing lanes vary, and there are different levels available. As written above, there are giant tubes for groups of people, or single tubes available. Fun, fun, fun!

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Layer up with a shirt (synthetic is best), a sweater (fleece) and a warm jacket. If you have ski pants, that's your best bet for your lower half. Non-cotton socks are best for your feet, and don't forget gloves, and a warm hat. A neck gaiter is a nice plus. Skirts are doable.

If you have reason to believe that I, or other mischievous folk, will be tripping you from behind with tubes, then wear butt pads :)

IS THIS FOR SINGLES ONLY?
No! JOC is an outdoors club open to all, although, a majority of attendees will be single.

WHAT IS THE DEADLINE?
Early bird: ($39): Monday, March 1
Late Bird: ($45): Thursday, March 4

HOW DO I SIGN UP?
1) Please go to www.jocsnowtubing2010.eventbrite.com and fill out the form.

 AND

2) Paypal the amount ($39 on or before March 1, or $45 after) to
jewishoutdoorsclub@yahoo.com

I can only sign you up once I have received payment -registration alone is not sufficient. Please note that paypal is the only acceptable method of payment.

Also, please note that this cost does not include paying drivers if you get a ride. The amount that JOC recommends is $10 a person.

CANCELLATION POLICY?
Cancellations will be accepted up to the Thursday prior for a full refund.  After that, I cannot offer a refund,
but you can find someone else to take your place and deal with the reimbursement on your own with that person.

BAD WEATHER?
Please note that in the event of inclement weather, the trip is cancelled and the paypal fee will be refunded.

I HEARD A RUMOR THAT THE LAST RUN IS NAKED. IS THIS TRUE?
Well, not exactly. But it is a JOC tradition to go nearly naked. This is, of course, optional :)
Yeah baby!!!

Hope to see you there!
